📖 Key Vocabulary:

1) Anaesthesia (n)- temporary loss of sensation or awareness, induced for medical or veterinary purposes e.g. 'When undergoing surgery, it is common to have anaesthesia.'

2) Detest (v)- to hate something e.g. 'I detest vegetables!'

3) Dilate (v)= to make something wider e.g. 'Before the operation, eye drops are given to dilate the pupils.'

4) Lesion (n)= an area of abnormal or damaged tissue caused by injury, infection, or disease e.g. 'He had many lesions on his body.'

5) Pheromone (n)= a chemical substance produced and released into the environment by an animal e.g. 'They release pheromones to attract members of the opposite sex.'
