Lesson: The clever trick used by sports betting apps

📖 Key Vocabulary:

1) Wager (v)- to risk (money or something valuable) against someone else's on the basis of the outcome of an unpredictable event; bet e.g. 'Spectators wagered an estimated $35 billion.'

2) Deterrent (n)- something which dissuades (opposite of persuade) you from doing something e.g. 'He put up a huge fence around his house as a deterrent to would-be intruders.'

3) Dopamine (n)- the 'feel-good' hormone that gives you a sense of pleasure e.g. 'Getting likes on social media gives us an instant dopamine hit.'

4) Anticipation (n)- excitement e.g. 'He awaited the birthday party with anticipation.' 

5) To 'cash in' (v)- to obtain financial profit e.g. 'He tried to cash in on the success of his book by writing another.'
